If the laptop has a SATA hard drive you need to install the drivers at the very
beginning of setup, you should see a message telling you to press F6 to load
drivers.
BUT:
Have you checked that you can get XP drivers for the rest of the hardware? This might
not be so easy.
As for installing Win98 on that, forget it!
