Are the Pulse 3D wireless headsets actually worth the money for PS5 or is it just marketing hype? Im tired of my high-end wired cans buzzing through the DualSense jack and need a replacement today. Best Buy has them for $99 here in Chicago but honestly I'm worried the plastic feels cheap compared to my old gear...

I dealt with that annoying DualSense buzzing for weeks before I finally caved and bought the Sony Pulse 3D Wireless Headset. Honestly, I'm satisfied because it just works without any glitches.

  • Pulse 3D: Zero interference, easy UI integration.
  • <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless&linkCode=osi&------123456890?7649-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless: Better build, but much pricier. The plastic feels fine once you're wearing them, and the reliable connection makes it worth the money. No complaints after six months.

In my experience, the Pulse 3D build quality is a gamble. For better reliability, I recommend the Turtle Beach Stealth 600 Gen 2 MAX. It feels far more robust and the hinges are way stronger. One quick tip: always update the firmware immediately to prevent connection drops. It is a much more stable long-term investment for a PS5 setup than those flimsy Sony ones.

Re: "Exactly what I was thinking" - yeah basically everyone is saying the same thing here. The Pulse is fine for the software integration but it feels like a plastic toy compared to actual high-end gear. If you are worried about that cheap feeling, you probably wont be happy with it long term. Since the thread mentioned durability and that annoying DualSense buzz, here are a couple of alternatives that actually feel solid:

  • HyperX Cloud Alpha Wireless Gaming Headset - these have an aluminum frame so they dont feel like they're gonna snap. Plus the battery life is literally insane, like 300 hours or something.
  • Corsair HS80 RGB WIRELESS Premium Gaming Headset with Spatial Audio - really comfortable fabric pads and a much more premium feel than the Sony ones, ngl. I would grab either of those over the Pulse if you're already used to better gear. That buzzing through the controller is a total mood killer... definitely go wireless and save yourself the headache.

> I'm worried the plastic feels cheap compared to my old gear... Building on the earlier suggestion, I have to say I've been pretty disappointed with the construction of the Sony set. Unfortunately, the plastic feels quite brittle and it didnt hold up well during my testing. If you are used to high-end gear, the Pulse is gonna feel like a major step down. I've found a couple of alternatives that feel much more substantial:

  • HyperX Cloud II Wireless Gaming Headset has a sturdy aluminum frame and much better clamping force.
  • Razer Kaira Pro for PlayStation offers better drivers and haptic feedback, tho the mic isnt quite as good as expected. I'd suggest looking at the technical breakdowns on RTINGS or SoundGuys to see the frequency response charts. The Sony tuning has some weird dips in the mids that might really bug you if you're coming from audiophile equipment...
