Hey everyone! I finally managed to snag a PS5, but right now I'm just using my old TV speakers and they really don't do the games justice. I've been looking at the official Pulse 3D headset since it's built specifically for the console, but I've heard some mixed things about the long-term build quality.
I'm specifically curious about a few details:
I want a great experience without spending $300 on high-end gear. For those who have used them for a while, are they actually worth the $100 price tag?
Been thinking about this for a bit... looking at what's been said, the Pulse is okay but i gotta be real about the build quality. I've seen way too many of those headbands snap or the ear pads start peeling after a year of daily use. If you're on a budget and want something that actually lasts, maybe skip the official one. The HyperX Cloud II Wired Gaming Headset is a total tank and honestly feels more premium than its price suggests, plus it's super comfy for those 3-hour sessions. If you're dead set on wireless but want better reliability, the Razer Barracuda X 2022 Wireless Gaming Headset is usually around the same price and the battery life is way better than the Pulse. It's basically about whether you want the Sony branding or something that'll actually stay in one piece for the long haul.
Tbh after years of gaming, I ditched the Pulse for the HyperX Cloud III Wireless Gaming Headset 120h Battery. The insane battery life and metal frame make it way more reliable, trust me.
Congrats on finally getting a PS5! Honestly, for the 100 dollar price point, the Sony PlayStation Pulse 3D Wireless Headset for PS5 is a really solid choice if you want to experience that 3D audio without breaking the bank. In Returnal, the spatial sound is actually a game changer... you can hear exactly where those enemies are crawling. Comfort is decent, though after about two or three hours my ears do get a bit sweaty since the pads arent super breathable. The battery life is usually enough for a few days of casual play, but yeah, 12 hours isnt industry-leading. If you can stretch your budget, the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless+Gaming+Headset&linkCode=osi&------123456890?7649-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless Gaming Headset is way more comfortable and has a much better battery, but for a hundred bucks? The Pulse is totally worth it imo.

Adding my two cents here... before I give you a proper breakdown, do you usually wear glasses when you're gaming? That really affects how those ear cups feel after an hour or two. Also, do you strictly need a wireless setup or would you be open to wired options that might offer better audio fidelity for the same price?
