Are there any high-quality grips recommended for the Switch OLED?

Anyone know some high-quality grips for the Switch OLED? I was looking at the Satisfye and the Skull & Co ones but I'm honestly torn. I saw some people say the Satisfye ZenGrip Pro is the gold standard but then others mention it scratches the white joycons and I really dont want that happening to my new console.

Skull & Co looks okay but maybe too slim? I mostly play handheld in bed before sleeping and my hands keep cramping up because the OLED is kinda heavy compared to my old Lite. I have about 40 bucks to spend and want something that wont break the bank but also feels premium. Does the Satisfye actually scratch it though or are people just being dramatic?...

Honestly, the scratching concern with the Satisfye ZenGrip Pro OLED Handheld Grip is real if you are swapping it out a lot. You really gotta be careful because those rubber pads can wear down or catch dust that leaves marks on the white finish. If you want to save some cash and protect your console, I would suggest looking at the Skull & Co. NeoGrip for Switch OLED with 3 Pair Handles. It is much more budget-friendly and usually comes in well under 30 bucks. A few reasons why I prefer it:

  • You get three different handle sizes included to find the right fit for your hands.
  • It doesnt put as much pressure on the Joy-Con rails compared to the Satisfye.
  • It is way lighter, which helps when you are playing in bed and dont want to drop it on your face. Just make sure to watch some videos on how to slide it on properly. You might want to consider the bundle that includes a carrying case too, it is usually a steal.

I have gone through four different grip setups since the OLED launched, and in my experience, traditional snap-on grips are always a compromise. Re: "Honestly, the scratching concern with the Satisfye ZenGrip..." - it is definitely a valid worry if you care about the aesthetics of those white joycons. Friction fits are just technically prone to wear over time. If you are mostly playing in bed, you might wanna look at the NYXI Hyperion Pro Wireless Joy-pad. I know you asked for grips, but these actually replace the Joy-cons entirely. They have a way better ergonomic curve and they use Hall Effect joysticks so you wont get drift issues down the road. It feels way more premium than a plastic shell and keeps the weight balanced better for lying down. Usually runs about 50 bucks tho, so a tiny bit over budget but it saves you from buying new joycons later. I have been using mine for six months and havent touched the originals since... definitely the move for ergonomics if you are tired of hand cramps.

> Does the Satisfye actually scratch it though or are people just being dramatic?... Honestly, the scratching isnt just drama. I bought the Satisfye ZenGrip Pro OLED Edition thinking it was the endgame but unfortunately it was a total letdown. The friction-fit design is technically flawed because the tolerances are way too tight. Any microscopic debris trapped between the rubber and the console basically acts like sandpaper. My white Joy-Cons got scuffed within a week despite being careful. I tried the Skull & Co. NeoGrip for Switch OLED afterward. It felt okay but the plastic quality is honestly disappointing compared to the premium feel I wanted. If you actually want comfort and dont care about the slim profile, look at the Hori Split Pad Pro for Nintendo Switch. It replaces the Joy-Cons entirely so you dont have to worry about scratches, though losing the internal battery and gyro is a huge trade-off. Quick tip: whatever you buy, clean your rails with a microfiber cloth daily. Dust is the real enemy of the OLED finish.
