Respectfully, I'd consider another option. Ngl, the internal tech relies on PCIe Gen4 speeds to handle those heavy assets for Series X games. USB ports are basically a bottleneck, so the console blocks you from playing optimized titles off them. But iirc, you don't actually need that crazy speed for *everything* you own. I'd actually suggest getting a fast external SSD instead. I use the Samsung T7 1TB Portable SSD and it’s a lifesaver. You just use it as "cold storage." Transferring a massive 100GB game back to your internal drive takes maybe 6-8 minutes, which is way faster than redownloading from Game Pass. For me, saving over $100 is worth the minor hassle of moving files. TL;DR: Don't buy the expensive card; get a Crucial X9 1TB Portable SSD and just swap games to the internal drive when you wanna play. It's way cheaper! 👍

honestly i have this exact same issue and i have been dealing with it for like three months now. i am really happy with the xbox series x generally but this storage bottleneck is the only thing that really bothers me. i have been comparing the Seagate Storage Expansion Card 1TB against the WD_BLACK C50 1TB Expansion Card trying to see which brand is more reliable but i just cant find a definitive answer. it is super frustrating being stuck in this loop where i want the speed but hate the proprietary price. still havent found a solution that feels safe for the money and i am just as stuck as you are.
