Hey everyone! With the PS5 Pro finally out, I’m really looking to level up my audio game to match the upgraded hardware. I’ve been using a basic pair of headphones for a while, but I feel like I'm totally missing out on the full potential of the console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech. I want that 'total immersion' feeling where I can pinpoint exactly where every footstep or environmental sound is coming from in games like Horizon Forbidden West or God of War.

I’ve been doing some research and I’m a bit torn on which way to go. I’ve been eyeing the Sony Pulse Elite because of those new planar magnetic drivers and the seamless PlayStation Link integration, but I’ve also heard the Audeze Maxwell is basically the gold standard for pure sound quality right now. My main priorities are a massive soundstage and long-term comfort, as I usually pull 3-4 hour gaming sessions on the weekends. I’m definitely looking for a wireless setup with a solid 2.4GHz connection to avoid any lag, and I'm willing to spend around $200-$350 for the right pair.

Has anyone tested these or other high-end sets specifically on the Pro yet? Which headset do you think offers the most 'spatial' and immersive 3D audio experience for that true next-gen feel?

In my experience, ive tested both on my pro and heres the deal:

- Sony PlayStation Pulse Elite Wireless Headset: the safe choice. official *PlayStation Link* tech means zero lag or compatibility headaches. its basically optimized for Tempest 3D audio.
- Audeze Maxwell Wireless Gaming Headset for PlayStation: highkey better planar magnetic sound, but its heavy. watch your posture during those 4-hour sessions!!

im satisfied with the elite for reliability tho. cheers 👍

sooo hyped for ur Pro upgrade!! Quick question before I give advice: do you wear glasses? honestly, 4-hour sessions hit different if the clamping force is high lol. I've spent years testing gear and comfort is key. Look into the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+7P+Wireless+Gaming+Headset&linkCode=osi&------123456890?7649-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7P Wireless Gaming Headset. It's basically designed for Tempest 3D, using high-fidelity drivers that make spatial audio feel super precise for way less cash. lmk about the glasses!

If you are going for that high-end experience, honestly just be careful with the build materials. I have seen way too many premium headsets use cheap plastic hinges that give out after six months of daily use. Since you're doing 4-hour sessions, that stress adds up fast. Look for something with reinforced metal frames if you can find it. Another thing to watch out for is the battery life versus the charging speed. Some of these wireless sets take forever to juice up, which is a pain if you forget to plug them in overnight. Also, keep in mind that the Tempest 3D tech actually works with almost any decent stereo pair, so you dont need to overpay for special 3D drivers if the build quality isnt there. Just stick to a solid 2.4GHz wireless connection to avoid any audio delay, because even a tiny bit of lag ruins the spatial effect in games like God of War. Just trying to make sure you dont waste your money on something that wont last a year!

Wow ok that changes things. Gonna have to rethink my approach now.
