I have been using my standard DualShock 4 for years now, but the stick drift is finally becoming unbearable. Since I am still mainly playing on my PS4 Pro, I figure it is time for a serious upgrade. I mostly play fast-paced shooters and some open-world RPGs, so I am curious if those pro style controllers with back paddles are actually worth the investment.
I have looked at options like Scuf and the Razer Raiju, but I am worried about durability for the price. I want something that feels premium and has a solid battery life. Does anyone have recommendations for the best high-performance controllers that work perfectly with the Pro?

In my experience, I've tried many over the years and honestly, high-end gear can be hit or miss. If ur looking for a serious premium upgrade for shooters:
- Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro Controller for PS4 - it's super solid and the stick tension is basically perfect for aiming.
- Razer Raiju Ultimate Wireless/Wired Gaming Controller for PS4 - those clicky buttons are literally a game changer. Battery life is decent, but I stay wired for zero lag anyway. gl!

If you are dealing with stick drift, the most practical thing is actually the Astro C40 TR Controller. It is pricey, but the modules are replaceable. So if the sticks start acting up again, you just swap the part instead of the whole controller. Its super heavy-duty and great for shooters, tho the battery life is just okay at maybe 10 hours. If you want to save some cash, honestly just get a fresh Sony DualShock 4 Wireless Controller and pair it with the Sony DualShock 4 Back Button Attachment. Its the cheapest way to get back paddles without sacrificing the reliability of the original hardware. Plus you dont have to worry about weird software bugs. I also tried the SCUF Impact PS4 Controller for a while. It feels amazing in the hand and has 4 paddles, but the durability is hit or miss compared to the Astro. If you play for hours every day, the Astro or the DS4 attachment route is probably the smarter investment long-term... especially if you want to avoid buying a new one in six months.
