Hey everyone! My PS4 Pro has been sounding like a jet engine lately, especially when running more demanding games like God of War or Horizon Forbidden West. I’m really worried about it overheating during long sessions, so I’m looking for a solid cooling stand to help manage the temps. I've seen some with built-in charging docks and others with high-RPM fans, but I'm not sure which actually work and which are just gimmicks. My budget is around $30-$40, and I’d prefer something that isn't too noisy since my console sits right on my desk. Does anyone have a specific model they swear by that actually dropped their console's temperature?
yo, I totally feel u on that jet engine sound lol. honestly, I've been using my PS4 Pro for years and had the same issue with God of War. For your situation, I would suggest being a bit cautious cuz some stands are highkey gimmicks, but a couple actually helped me.
• OVICX PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Cooling Fan: This one is basically a classic. It’s pretty quiet and has those extra charging slots for your controllers. It dropped my temps a bit, but dont expect a miracle.
• Kootek Vertical Stand for PS4 Pro with Cooling Fan: This is what I use now. It's got 3 fans and actually feels pretty sturdy.
Honestly tho, make sure to check your thermal paste too if you're brave enough to open it up... that helped me more than any stand ever did! But yeah, these stands should keep things a bit cooler during those long sessions. gl!
Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, I've spent way too much money trying to fix that jet engine noise. I bought a OIVO PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Cooling Fan and Controller Charging Station thinking it would be a lifesaver, but unfortunately, it was a bit of a letdown. The fans were actually louder than the console itself and the temps barely dropped... it felt pretty gimmicky tbh.
If youre on a budget, I learned the hard way that the best way to spend that $30 is actually on a Arctic MX-4 Thermal Paste and a cheap TEKTON Precision Screwdriver Set. I was super nervous to open my Pro, but cleaning out the dust and replacing the dried-up factory paste did WAY more than any external fan ever could. But if you really want a stand, maybe look at the NexiGo PS4 Pro Vertical Stand with Dual Controller Charging Station because it has adjustable fan speeds which helps with the noise. Just dont expect miracles from the cooling alone—most of these stands just blow air at the plastic casing which doesnt really get to the heat sink. Good luck though, I know how annoying that sound is!!
OMG you definitely need to be careful with what you plug into your console! I spent forever looking into this because I didnt want to fry my PS4 Pro lol. Honestly tho, you should just hop on YouTube and search for ps4 pro cooling stand comparison testing. There is a fantastic video that pops up right at the top where this guy literally compares every major brand side-by-side with a thermal camera! It is so cool to see which ones actually move air and which ones are just loud for no reason. I love that video because it focuses on reliability and not just flashy lights. Definitely check Reddit too because there are tons of deep dives on which brands actually last more than a month! Youll find way better info there than what I could type out here... seriously just go look at the search results!
Same setup here, love it
