Which headset provides the best spatial audio for Xbox Series X?

I've been playing on Xbox since the original Halo days and I usually pride myself on having a decent setup. I know my way around a mixamp and I've used everything from Turtle Beach to high-end Sennheisers over the years but lately I'm hitting a wall with my Series X setup and it's driving me crazy. I moved into this noisy apartment in Brooklyn last month and the street noise is brutal so I really need something with great isolation but more importantly the spatial audio has to be pinpoint.

I've been using my old A40s with the MixAmp Pro TR but honestly the imaging feels totally off in games like Warzone and Apex where the atmosphere and directional cues are everything. Even with Dolby Atmos for Headphones or DTS Headphone:X turned on everything sounds like it's coming from inside my head rather than around me. It's like the soundstage just collapsed lately. I've messed with the EQ presets in the command center and tried the flat settings too but I'm still getting snuck up on constantly which never used to happen. I'm prepping for a local competitive tournament next Saturday and I cant be losing matches because I cant tell if a guy is on the floor above me or just behind a wall.

I'm looking to spend maybe $300 or so. I was looking at the SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless because everyone raves about them but Ive heard mixed things about how the DAC handles the Xbox specific protocol compared to just plugging into the controller. Then there's the Audeze Maxwell which supposedly has the best drivers but is it actually better for directional cues or is it just better for music? I need to pull the trigger on something by Tuesday so it gets here in time for me to break them in.

Has anyone actually A/B tested these specifically for the spatial processing on the Series X? I need to know which one actually gives that 3D bubble feeling where I can track footsteps through walls without second guessing myself.

Regarding what #1 said about "Honestly, I’ve been going through the same headache..." - i totally feel that. Since you already have the MixAmp, check out the Beyerdynamic MMX 300 2nd Generation Wired Gaming Headset. Its closed-back so it actually blocks those Brooklyn sirens. The imaging is way more precise than the Maxwell for pinpointing feet tho. It uses studio drivers for that 3D bubble feel. It wont let you down for that tournament.

Honestly, I’ve been going through the same headache lately and it’s so frustrating when your gear lets you down right before a tournament. I tried the <a href=" https://www.amazon.com/s?k= SteelSeries+Arctis+Nova+Pro+Wireless+for+Xbox&linkCode=osi&------123456890?7649-20" target="_blank" rel="nofollow sponsored">SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless for Xbox and unfortunately, the spatial imaging was not as good as expected for those vertical sounds in Warzone. It felt kinda flat to me. I had issues with the DAC settings too... it just doesnt feel as precise as the old MixAmp days. The Audeze Maxwell for Xbox Wireless Gaming Headset has amazing clarity but might feel too heavy for a long session. If you need that isolation for your noisy apartment, check out the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro for Xbox. The ANC is actually great for drowning out street noise and the directional audio is surprisingly punchy. Its a struggle to get that 3D bubble feeling again but I really hope you find the right pair before Tuesday!
