I just upgraded to a Series X, but my old 1080p screen isn't cutting it anymore. I’m looking for a monitor with HDMI 2.1 that handles VRR and HDR well. I’m torn between an OLED or a fast IPS panel. Which specific models offer the smoothest 4K 120Hz performance for console gaming?

Ok so, if you're looking for that 4K 120Hz sweet spot without spending a fortune on OLED, I'd honestly go with the Gigabyte M28U 28" 144Hz 4K Gaming Monitor. It's basically the king of value right now. It has two HDMI 2.1 ports that work perfectly with the Series X VRR, so no screen tearing at all.
Another solid pick is the ASUS TUF Gaming VG28UQL1A, which handles HDR a bit better than the Gigabyte in my experience. Both are fast IPS, so you get great colors without the burn-in risk. GL with the setup!
