Which racing wheel is best for Gran Turismo 7 on PS5?

I’ve been playing Gran Turismo 7 on the PS5 since launch using the DualSense controller, and while the haptics are great, I feel like I’m missing out on the full experience. I’m finally ready to pull the trigger on a proper racing wheel setup, but the options are honestly a bit overwhelming. I’ve been looking at the Logitech G923 for the TrueForce integration, but I’ve also heard great things about the Fanatec GT DD Pro because of the direct drive technology.

I’m looking for something that offers the best force feedback realism specifically for GT7’s physics. My budget is around $600-$800, though I could go a bit higher if it’s a massive jump in quality. I’m also a bit tight on space, so I need to know if these wheels work well on a desk or if I absolutely need a dedicated rig to handle the torque. I’m really curious about which wheel provides the most competitive edge for Sport Mode races. Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro (5 Nm) - This is highkey the best for realism. Direct drive is a massive jump over gears or belts, tbh.
Logitech G923 Racing Wheel and Pedals for PlayStation 5 - A decent option if you wanna save cash, but the TrueForce is kinda loud.

Honestly, I'd go Fanatec... but be careful on a desk cuz the torque might shake things up! maybe get a clamp if you dont have a rig yet? gl!

Basically, I totally agree that ditching the controller is the best move you'll ever make for GT7 immersion!! But I’m gonna politely disagree with the focus on just picking the 'best' motor—after years of racing, here’s my long-term take: 1. The pedals are actually way more important for your lap times than the wheel itself. Like, idc how strong the force feedback is if you can't hit your braking markers consistently in Sport Mode.
2. Hardware fatigue is real. Some of the gear-driven stuff can get loud and belt-driven systems can lose tension after a year or two, so definitely think about long-term wear.
3. Desk life is tough. If you're clamping and unclamping every day, the mounting hardware is usually the first thing to break, not the motor itself, tbh. Honestly, just focus on what feels comfortable for long sessions because that's where the real competitive edge comes from over time.
