Hey everyone! I finally managed to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch OLED model, and man, that screen is absolutely gorgeous. Coming from the original V1 Switch, the colors and the size of this display are just on another level. However, I’m a bit paranoid about keeping it in pristine condition, especially since I’ve heard that the OLED screen is actually made of glass with an 'anti-shatter' film on top of it, rather than the plastic used on the older models.
I’ve been doing some research, but I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed by the options. Some people swear by the tempered glass protectors because of the added impact protection, while others mention that certain brands can cause issues with the fit when sliding the console into the dock. Since the OLED model fits a bit tighter in the dock than the original, I really don't want to buy something that's going to get scratched or peeled off every time I want to play on the TV.
I’m looking for something that offers high clarity—I don't want to dull those vibrant OLED colors or deal with a weird rainbow effect. I’m also a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to bubbles and dust during installation, so if there are any brands that come with a really solid alignment tray or foolproof application kit, that would be a huge plus! My budget is pretty flexible, maybe up to $20 or $25 if the quality is truly worth it.
For those of you who have had your OLED Switch for a while, which screen protector have you found to be the most reliable? Does it fit well in the dock without being too thick, and does it affect the touch sensitivity at all? Thanks in advance for the help!
In my experience, you definitely want to go with the amFilm OneTouch Glass Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch OLED. I've tried a bunch of these, but honestly, this one is basically foolproof because it comes with that plastic alignment tray you mentioned. You just snap it over the console and it lines up perfectly—no stressing about it being 1mm off center lol.
Technically speaking, it's 0.33mm thick tempered glass, which is the sweet spot. It's thin enough that it doesn't cause any friction or "tightness" when sliding into the dock, but it's still 9H hardness for solid scratch protection. I havent noticed any rainbow effect or loss in touch sensitivity at all... the OLED colors still look super VIBRANT. Plus, it usually comes in a 2-pack for like $10-$15, so it's well within your budget if you ever need a spare. gl with the new console!! 👍

Check out the Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch OLED. It's like $15 for a two-pack, which is a STEAL compared to some boutique brands. Seriously, the alignment tray makes it foolproof for beginners, plus it’s thin enough that it won't scratch when you dock it. GL!
