Hey everyone! I just finally upgraded from my launch day Switch to the new OLED model, and man, that screen is absolutely gorgeous. Since it's actually glass this time around instead of the plastic on the original, I'm a bit nervous about scratches, especially with how tight the fit feels in the dock.

I've been looking at a few options online but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the brands. I'm specifically looking for something that won't mess with the vibrant colors or the touch sensitivity, because that's the whole point of the upgrade, right? I also really struggle with getting these things on without trapping dust or ending up with annoying bubbles.

Here is what I'm hoping to find:

  • Something made of tempered glass for better impact protection
  • A kit that includes an alignment frame to make the install foolproof
  • A protector that is thin enough to still allow the tablet to slide easily into the official dock

I've heard people mention brands like amFilm or Spigen, but I'm curious what you guys are actually using on yours. Have you noticed any issues with adhesive peeling over time due to the heat when it's docked? Which screen protector would you say is the absolute best for the OLED model?

Honestly, go with amFilm OneTouch Tempered Glass for Switch OLED. Its super cheap and the alignment frame makes it foolproof.

  • amFilm: Great value and very easy to install.
  • Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit for Nintendo Switch OLED: Feels a bit smoother but costs more. Both fit the dock perfectly and dont mess with colors, but for real-world use, amFilm is the winner.

Agreed, those frames are essential. I use ivoler Screen Protector for Switch OLED 4-Pack because its 9H hardness gives peace of mind. Tip: apply in a steamy bathroom for zero dust.

I totally feel you on the overwhelmed part lol. When I got my OLED, I spent way too much time looking at reviews because I didnt want to ruin that beautiful screen. I ended up going with Orzly Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch OLED 2-Pack because it was cheap enough that if I messed up the first one, it wasnt a huge loss. Honestly, the whole dock tightness thing is real. My buddy bought some random generic brand that was a bit too thick and he actually ended up scratching the protector itself just from sliding it in and out of the official dock. Ive been using the Orzly one for about six months now and its stayed crystal clear. No issues with the adhesive peeling either, even when the Switch gets pretty warm during long handheld sessions of Tears of the Kingdom. If you really want to spend a bit more for name brand peace of mind, ZAGG InvisibleShield Glass Elite for Nintendo Switch OLED is decent, but honestly, youre mostly paying for the replacement warranty. For practical use, I think the mid-range kits are better value since you get multiple tries or a spare for later. One thing I learned the hard way: before you drop the glass down, use a piece of scotch tape to dab every single tiny speck of dust off the screen. Even with an alignment frame, one piece of lint will ruin your day. The steamy bathroom trick mentioned earlier is basically 90 percent of the battle though. Good luck with the new console, it really is a game changer!
