What screen protector should I actually get for my new Switch OLED? I just picked one up today from Best Buy and I'm honestly so hyped to play Metroid but I'm terrified of scratching the screen since its glass now and not plastic like the old one.

I saw a lot of people online recommending the amFilm ones because they're cheap but then I also saw people swearing by the Spigen EZ Fit because it has that plastic alignment tool thingy. The amFilm 3-pack is like 8 bucks but is the quality actually the same as the Spigen which is like double the price for only two? I dont want to mess up the install and have bubbles everywhere because that would drive me crazy... are the cheap ones just as good?

To add to the point above: watch the glass thickness. I used dbrand Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Switch OLED because:

  • .33mm maintains dock clearance
  • better oleophobic coating Cheaper adhesive is risky tho.

> I dont want to mess up the install and have bubbles everywhere because that would drive me crazy... I feel your pain on the bubble thing. Years ago, I ruined a whole pack of protectors on my original Switch just because I did it in my dusty living room without thinking. It was a total nightmare. Honestly, the most important thing isnt even the brand, it is the environment you do it in. I would suggest doing the install in the bathroom after running a hot shower for a few minutes. The steam basically knocks all the dust out of the air so nothing lands on the screen while you are working. If you want something reliable without spending Spigen money, you might want to consider the Orzly Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Nintendo Switch OLED 2-Pack. I have used their stuff for years. Just be careful with the alignment... once those things touch the glass, they really want to stay there. Make sure to check the edges twice before you let go. Also, watch out for protectors that are too thick tho, because they can make the dock fit way too tight and that can cause issues with the plastic rubbing over time.

Unfortunately, I had issues with those cheap amFilm Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Switch OLED packs because the adhesive quality is inconsistent. The light transmission specs weren't as good as expected, which is disappointing for that display.

  • Spigen Glas.tR EZ Fit for Nintendo Switch OLED has better tolerances.
  • The alignment frame prevents bubble issues. Honestly, I dont think the budget options are worth the hassle.
