Best AIO liquid cooler for an AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D?

I just managed to get my hands on the new Ryzen 7 9850X3D for my latest build, and I'm really excited to see what it can do! However, I know these X3D chips can run quite hot, especially under heavy gaming loads. I’m currently looking for a high-performance AIO to keep the temps in check without sounding like a jet engine. I’ve been eyeing some 360mm options like the Arctic Liquid Freezer III or the Kraken Elite, but I'm curious about real-world performance on this specific CPU. Does anyone have recommendations for an AIO that handles the 9850X3D’s heat spikes well?

In my experience, over the years I've seen these X3D chips act up because of the extra cache layer—it basically acts like a heat trap. For your situation, I’d suggest the Arctic Liquid Freezer III 360 A-RGB. It’s super reliable and that offset mounting bracket is actually a lifesaver for cooling Ryzen's hotspots. I’ve used it and it’s lowkey the safest pick if you want quiet performance... gl!

I would suggest NZXT Kraken Elite 360 vs DeepCool LT720. The Kraken's pump is quieter, but the DeepCool is SO loud... I think the Kraken is safer??

@Reply #5 - good point! Thickness helps, but honestly, have you looked into undervolting at all? When I first started messing with X3D chips, I was terrified of touching voltage, but it changed everything for my temps. I spent a whole night tweaking offsets and it was like I had a completely different cooler. It was a mess of a process but honestly pretty fun once it clicked! I'm not 100% sure how the 9850X3D handles Curve Optimizer compared to the last gen, but I think I saw a thread on the overclocking subreddits saying you can get some amazing results without losing performance. IIRC someone mentioned that even a modest negative offset helps those sudden spikes a ton because it lowers the floor. Definitely check out some of the deep dive videos from guys like Optimum or even the detailed charts on the Hardware Busters site. They have some fantastic data on how these chips react to different cooling setups. It's wild how much you can do with software tuning these days! Just keep an eye on those idle jumps, these chips love to spike for no reason anyway.

Honestly, if you want something that handles those sudden X3D spikes without breaking a sweat, I've been super satisfied with the Lian Li Galahad II Trinity Performance 360. The Performance version is a total beast compared to the standard one because it has a 32mm thick radiator instead of the usual 27mm, which gives it way more thermal mass for cooling. It's been rock solid for me and the build quality is honestly top notch. Another one that works well is the Corsair iCUE Link H150i RGB. Technically it's a great choice because the pump speed control is really precise in the software, and the copper cold plate is massive. I have no complaints with how it handles the 9850X3D heat density, basically keeps things well under the throttle limit even when the cache is working hard.
