In my experience, going for the top-tier gaming chip with that massive 3D cache is sooo worth it, even at 1440p. I noticed a huge difference in those CPU-heavy games like Cyberpunk... like, the stutters just basically disappeared. SAM is a legit benefit too, cuz it lets the processor access all that VRAM at once, giving a nice little FPS boost. Unfortunately, it wasnt as good as expected when things get messy in Starfield... the frame drops were honestly killing my vibe. Everyone says its enough, but sadly I found it struggling during heavy combat compared to what the benchmarks promised. Quick question tho, what kind of refresh rate is your monitor? If youre only pushing 60Hz then the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D is definitely overkill, but for 144Hz or higher, you're gonna want that extra power to keep things smooth. Honestly, if you cant swing the 3D chip, Id at least look at the AMD Ryzen 7 7700X. Just be warned, it runs way hotter than I liked... I had issues with my fan noise until I tweaked the settings. SAM is great tho, definitely keep that enabled.
