What is the actual best DDR5 kit for a 9850X3D? I read that 6000 CL30 is the limit but then some guys are saying 8000 works on the new platform and I'm just spiraling.

I have 250 quid and need this for a stream next week, I'm so scared of getting something that crashes or wont even boot...

> some guys are saying 8000 works on the new platform Saw this earlier but just now responding. Honestly, I went down that rabbit hole and it was basically a massive waste of time. My current setup actually uses a really expensive high-speed kit because everyone was hyping up the new memory controller. Unfortunately, it was a total disaster. Wasted three nights trying to get it stable at those high speeds and it just kept blue screening during games. Not as good as expected at all... actually quite frustrating. Stability just wasnt there even though the kit was rated for way higher. There were constant issues with the infinity fabric not keeping up and the soc voltage getting way too high for my liking. Learned the hard way that even if the box says 8000, the cpu is the real bottleneck. Ended up having to manually tune everything down to 6000 just to get through a single match without a crash. My experience was pretty bleak, basically just paying a premium for parts I couldnt even use at their full potential. If youre on a tight deadline for a stream next week, dont mess with the super high stuff. Stick to 6000 CL30 as the alternative, its the sweet spot for a reason. Regretted trying to be an early adopter on those high frequencies cuz the bios support is still kinda shaky. Just get something that is known to work. Spent 200 quid on a G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 6400MT/s CL32 kit and even that gave me headaches until I dialed it back. Its just not worth the stress tbh.

I was in your exact shoes when I first built my current setup. I fell for the hype and spent way too much on a kit that was rated for 7600 because I wanted the absolute best... honestly, it was a total nightmare. I spent three nights trying to get it stable and it just kept blue screening right when I tried to do anything.

  • constant memory errors during my test runs
  • weird stuttering that ruined my gameplay
  • eventually had to downclock just to get into windows In my experience over the years, chasing those super high speeds is really just for people who like to tinker with settings all day. For a stream, you need reliability. I eventually swapped to a Kingston FURY Beast 32GB DDR5 6000MT/s CL30 and it worked perfectly the second I toggled the profile. You dont want to be mid-stream next week and have your whole rig lock up because you wanted a tiny speed boost you wont even notice. Just stick to the 6000 sweet spot.
