I'm planning a new build around the RTX 5070 Ti for 1440p gaming and want to avoid any major bottlenecks. I’m looking for a solid mid-range CPU that balances performance without breaking the bank. Should I stick with the latest Ryzen 7 series or go Intel? What’s the best value pairing for this specific card?
Sooo, I had a moment to think about this! Check out the benchmarks on Hardware Unboxed... basically the best resource for this. For ur 5070 Ti:
1. AMD Ryzen 5 7600X: Way cheaper than the 7700X but basically the same gaming speed.
2. Intel Core i5-13600K: A solid alternative if you find a good bundle deal.
Honestly, the 7600X is the BEST value cuz AM5 is amazing. gl!
Here's what I recommend: AMD Ryzen 7 7700X vs Intel Core i5-14600K. The i5 is actually decent for multitasking but pulls way too much power (180W+ peak) and had stability issues for me... super disappointing. The Ryzen 7 is better value for 1440p and has the AM5 upgrade path, tho boot times are sometimes slow. Unfortunately, Intels socket is basically a dead end anyway. gl!
Finally someone says it. Ive been thinking this for a while but wasnt sure.
Man I wish I found this thread sooner. Would have saved me so much hassle.
