So I just ordered this new AMD Ryzen 7 9850X3D chip for my first ever gaming pc and honestly i have no idea what i am doing. My cousin told me these things get really hot and i need a liquid cooler thing but the idea of putting water near my expensive parts is kinda terrifying??

I have about $150 left in my budget for this part and I'm hoping to build the whole thing next Friday if the parts arrive here in Chicago on time. Is there a specific one thats easy to install for someone who knows nothing? Like do I have to refill the water myself or does it just come ready to go? I really dont want to fry my new processor...

Just saw your post. Totally get the anxiety about liquid near your gear, but modern AIOs are sealed units, so you wont be pouring anything yourself. I was super nervous on my first build too, but honestly, once its in there, it just works well. I been running these for years and never had a leak.

  • ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 360 Black All-in-One is my top pick. I am very satisfied with the 38mm thick radiator and the integrated vrm fan.
  • If you wanna stay way under that $150 budget, Thermalright Frozen Notte 360 Black ARGB Liquid Cooler is a total steal. It has a high 5350RPM pump that keeps things moving.
  • No refilling needed ever.
  • Most come with offset mounting for AM5 which really helps since those Ryzen chiplets are off-center. I have zero complaints with these setups, they really work well for the price.
