I'm finishing my Ryzen 5 5600X build on a B550 board and need a 1TB M.2 drive that's wallet-friendly.

  • Reliable for daily gaming
  • Preferably PCIe 4.0
  • Budget under $70

I'm overwhelmed by all the DRAM-less options online. What is the best value budget M.2 for a gaming PC right now?

Grab the Western Digital WD Black SN770 1TB NVMe PCIe Gen4. Its basically the gold standard for budget gaming builds right now since it performs like a much pricier drive.

Honestly, the Teamgroup T-Force Cardea Z440 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe is a hidden gem if you want a drive with actual DRAM under $70. It uses the Phison E16 controller which is super reliable for daily gaming. If you dont mind skipping DRAM, the Crucial P3 Plus 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 SSD is usually super cheap and works great for a B550 build.
