Hey everyone! I'm finally building out my new rig, centered around a Ryzen 5800X, and I'm really trying to maximize its performance potential, especially when it comes to storage. I know Ryzen 5000 series CPUs shine with PCIe Gen4, and I want an NVMe SSD that truly complements that speed without creating a bottleneck. I'm mainly using this PC for heavy gaming and some video editing, so fast load times and quick file transfers are super important. I'm looking for a 1TB or 2TB drive. With so many Gen4 options out there, it's hard to narrow it down. What are your top recommendations for an NVMe SSD that really pushes the performance limits with a Ryzen 5000 CPU?

Here's what I recommend: TL;DR: For your 5800X, grab a Samsung 980 Pro 1TB or Crucial P5 Plus 2TB. They both absolutely fly with Gen4, you wont bottleneck that CPU for gaming or editing.
