so i just bought this expensive z790 board for my video editing build and im freaking out about picking the wrong parts. everything says pcie 5.0 is the fastest but i have no clue which one to actually buy or if they even fit.
sorry if this is dumb but what is the absolute fastest one i can get right now??

TL;DR: Reliability is vital for video work. The MSI Spatium M570 Pro 2TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe is very fast and stays stable under load, which is kinda important for long renders.
- Quick tip: Check the manual to confirm which slot is actually Gen 5.
- Resource: TechPowerUp has great thermal testing data. Safety is key so the drive wont throttle while youre working.

Youre gonna love the speed!! Quick question tho, whats your actual budget for this? Honestly just search reddit for pcie 5.0 ssd reviews, there are some fantastic threads that explain everything!

@Reply #1 - good point! But honestly, i'd be careful about thermals. I grabbed a gen 5 drive last month and it throttled like crazy cuz my case airflow was subpar. You might wanna consider the TeamGroup T-Force GE74 Pro 2TB PCIe 5.0 NVMe too. It hits 14,000MB/s easily. Just make sure your mobo heatsink is massive... these things run hot during long video renders.
