my old screen literally just flickered and died this morning so now im scrambling for a replacement before my next project starts Monday. looking for something high res thats gonna work with my pc and mac mini.

im torn between the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE and the ASUS ProArt PA279CRV since they both seem solid for design work. the dell is tempting for that ips black tech but the asus is cheaper and seems super color accurate. ive got about 750 to spend and need to buy it today so i can get it shipped to chicago fast. which one is the better pick for a mixed setup in 2024? or should i look at something else...

I have used both for design work. Here is how they compare:

  • Dell UltraSharp U2723QE 27-inch 4K USB-C Hub Monitor: Worth the extra cash. IPS Black tech makes a huge difference in contrast, and the hub makes swapping between Mac and PC easy.
  • ASUS ProArt PA279CRV 27-inch 4K Professional Monitor: Solid budget pick. Color accuracy is great, but blacks look kinda gray. Go with the Dell. It is worth it.

Saw this late, but honestly, I had issues with backlight bleed on that Dell... super disappointing for the price. You're basically paying a premium for the name. If you want to save some cash, look at these instead:

  • Gigabyte M27U 27-inch 4K 160Hz KVM Gaming Monitor
  • LG 27UP850N-W 27-inch 4K UHD IPS Monitor The KVM on the Gigabyte makes switching between your Mac and PC way easier. Just my two cents tho...
