I recently picked up the new HP OmniStudio X for my home office, and while the built-in features are great, I really need a dedicated 4K webcam to level up my video presentations. Since this All-in-One has such a sleek design, I’m looking for something that won't look too bulky sitting on top. I’m mainly focused on getting sharp image quality and good low-light performance for evening calls. I've been looking at the Logitech Brio and the Insta360 Link, but I’m worried about port compatibility and software integration with the HP setup. Does anyone have experience with a specific 4K model that works flawlessly with the OmniStudio X’s USB-C ports?
So I actually just found this thread and I'd actually suggest a different approach than just jumping for the most expensive 4K gear right away. Honestly, I'm kinda a beginner with high-end setups, but I've been super cautious about spending big bucks since the HP OmniStudio X All-in-One is already a premium investment.
Not to disagree with the others, but I've had a different experience where the really high-end 4K cams can sometimes be overkill and draw a lot of power from the USB-C ports. Since you're worried about bulk and cost, I'd suggest Dell UltraSharp WB7022 4K Webcam instead. It's got that sleek cylindrical look that fits the OmniStudio design better than the bulky Brio, and it's usually a bit cheaper while still being great in low light.
* Dell UltraSharp WB7022 4K Webcam - Super slim, amazing Sony Starvis sensor for evening calls.
* Anker PowerConf C300 - If you wanna save even more, it's 1080p but looks almost like 4K and handles light really well for the price.
Basically, I'd check the power draw specs before buying. It works better if you dont overload the bus. gl!
Honestly, I feel u on the low-light struggle. I've been using the Logitech Brio 4K Webcam with my OmniStudio X and it's basically plug-and-play via USB-C. It's solid, but if ur presentation needs to be NEXT LEVEL, the Insta360 Link 4K AI Webcam is the winner. The gimbal tracking is insane for moving around.
* **Brio:** Better if u want something discreet.
* **Link:** Better for image quality and low light, tho it's a bit flashier.
Both work fine with HP's ports, so dont worry about compatibility! gl!!
Just sharing my experience: so I went through this last year when I got my new setup and honestly, I was sooo worried about the USB-C compatibility too. I ended up trying the Razer Kiyo Pro Ultra 4K HDR Webcam and basically it was a total lifesaver for low-light stuff, plus it actually looks pretty sleek and not too bulky on the monitor. I mean, it's a bit pricey at like $299 but the image quality is literally wild compared to standard cams... anyway it works flawlessly with the ports so yeah.
Same boat, watching this
Respectfully, I'd consider another option because I'm honestly sooo worried about the heat and port strain from those high-end 4K cams... I had issues with my last AIO setup where the USB-C port started acting up. Instead of the Brio or Link, maybe look at the Dell UltraSharp WB7022 4K Webcam or the Elgato Facecam Pro 4K60. The Dell is basically a tank and super reliable for professional calls, while the Elgato is actually amazing if you want that DSLR look without the complexity, though it's kinda bulky, right? Just be careful with the weight on that slim OmniStudio screen lol.
