I've built custom rigs for years but I'm hitting a wall with cross-platform compatibility lately. My usual board keeps flaking out when I swap between my Linux box and the new Windows 11 thin client I just got for a project.

I need one high-end mechanical keyboard that works perfectly with any desktop model. Budget is $200... what's the go-to?

I spent more time troubleshooting my USB polling rates than actually coding back then. Honestly, the most reliable thing I have used for cross-platform stability is the Keychron Q6 QMK Custom Mechanical Keyboard. It has a physical toggle for different OS modes which swaps the layout at a hardware level. The technical upside is that it uses QMK firmware. If the Windows 11 thin client gets picky about the HID descriptor, you can remap everything via VIA and it sticks to the boards internal memory. It is right at that 200 dollar mark. If you prefer low profile tho, the NuPhy Air75 V2 Wireless Mechanical Keyboard is also decent. It handles Bluetooth handoffs between systems smoothly, but the build quality isnt quite as tank-like.
