I recently picked up the HP Chromebase 22 for my home office setup, and while I absolutely love the rotating screen and the minimalist look, I’m really struggling with the included peripherals. The keyboard is okay, but I find the mouse that came with it a bit clunky for daily use. Since the Chromebase has that unique white/silver aesthetic and limited port space, I’m looking for a high-quality wireless mouse that complements the design and works flawlessly with ChromeOS.

I’ve been looking at a few options, but I’m worried about connectivity issues—I'd prefer something that connects via Bluetooth so I don't have to use up one of the USB ports with a dongle. My budget is around $50-$80, and I’m looking for something ergonomic since I spend about 6-8 hours a day at my desk. I’ve heard some mice have trouble with smooth scrolling on ChromeOS compared to Windows, so that’s a big concern for me. Does anyone have a specific recommendation for a Bluetooth mouse that pairs easily with the HP Chromebase 22 and offers great battery life? I'd love to hear what you guys are using with your setups!

Since the Chromebase has that unique white/silver aesthetic and limited port space, I’m looking for a high-quality wireless mouse that complements the design and works flawlessly with ChromeOS. sooo i actually have the same Chromebase setup and honestly? finding a mouse that doesnt feel like a total downgrade was a nightmare. I first tried the Logitech Pebble M350 Wireless Mouse because it looks amazing with the white aesthetic, but it was way too flat for my hands during long shifts... like, my wrist literally started aching after two hours. i also had some weird stuttering issues on ChromeOS which was super frustrating. In my experience, you should definitely check out the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S for Mac in Pale Gray. even tho it says "for Mac," the Bluetooth connectivity is rock solid on ChromeOS and the scrolling is seriously the smoothest I've ever felt. It fits that silver/white vibe perfectly too!! it is a bit pricey, but the battery lasts forever. Idk why, but the cheaper Bluetooth mice always seem to lag when scrolling on ChromeOS, but this one just works. gl with the setup! 👍

Sooo I went through this last year when I tried building a minimalist Chromebase setup. Honestly, I spent way too much time worrying about the scrolling because ChromeOS is so picky about it. I actually ended up returning a few because the jerky scrolling was literally driving me insane.

I compared these two mainly because they didn't need a dongle:

1. Microsoft Surface Mobile Mouse in Ice Blue (matches the HP silver/white vibe pretty well) vs Razer Pro Click Mini Wireless Mouse.

2. The Microsoft mouse was super sleek but honestly? The ergonomics were terrible for 8-hour days. It's way too flat.

3. I switched to the Razer Pro Click Mini Wireless Mouse and even though it's marketed for productivity, it's basically the only one where I didn't have issues with scrolling on ChromeOS. Plus, it has a silent click which is nice for a home office.

It's a bit pricey tho, but after wasting money on cheap ones that felt clunky, it was worth it. Hope that helps!

Similar situation here - I went through this exact struggle last year when I got my Chromebase! Honestly, I was sooo worried about the white/silver aesthetic too. I ended up trying the Logitech M650 L Wireless Mouse in off-white because it looked like a perfect match for the HP vibe.

I mean, basically the reason I went with it was the SmartWheel feature. On ChromeOS, scrolling can definitely feel a bit janky sometimes, but this one felt really smooth for some reason? Plus, it has Bluetooth so I didn't have to waste a port. I spent about $45 on it, so it fits ur budget perfectly. It's super quiet too, which is nice if ur working late at night. One thing to watch out for is that it comes in different sizes... I got the "L" version cuz I wanted it to be more ergonomic for long days. It's been a decent option so far tbh!
