Best anti-sag bracket for the massive RTX 5090 Founders Edition?

So I finally got my hands on a 5090 FE after stalking Best Buy for weeks and man this thing is an absolute brick. Like it actually feels heavier than my cat. Im putting it into a Fractal North build this weekend and I am terrified of it snapping my motherboard in half because the sag is already visible just test fitting it. Its honestly kind of a scary amount of weight for a pcie slot to hold alone.

I am torn between a couple of options right now and really need to pull the trigger tonight so I can finish the build on Saturday. Option A is that Lian Li GB-002 bracket that attaches directly to the motherboard standoffs. I love how stealthy it looks because you basically cant see it through the glass but I am worried it wont actually be strong enough for the 5090 specifically since its so much beefier than the 40 series. Option B is just one of those basic telescoping kickstand poles like the ones from Cooler Master or even a generic one from Amazon. It seems way more secure but I dont know if it will clutter up the bottom of the case or look weird with the wood slats on the North.

My budget is around $40-50 for this part since I already blew my entire savings on the card lol. Is the Lian Li stealth one actually sturdy enough for this monster or should I just get the pole and play it safe?

To add to the point above: Im satisfied with the Thermalright TR-GBS ARGB Graphics Card Holder.

  • Rigid steel construction
  • Precise height adjustment It handles the 5090s mass easily.

@Reply #1 - good point! honestly tho i wouldnt trust motherboard standoffs for a 5090. Its just too much weight for that design. Im really satisfied with the ASUS ROG Herculx Graphics Card Anti-Sag Holder. It acts like a proper jack stand and i have zero worries about my pcie slot snapping. No complaints here... it looks fine in the North and doesnt distract from the wood.

Man, that 5090 is a absolute unit. It reminds me of when the 3090 first dropped and we all thought that was as big as they could get. I actually ran that Lian Li GB-002 Anti-Sag Bracket for ATX Motherboards in a client build a while back. It looks great because it basically disappears, but the physics of it always sketched me out a little. You are basically asking two or three motherboard standoffs to handle the torque of a card that heavy. It works for some, but I saw it flex slightly over time. In my personal rig, I tried to be clever with those stealth brackets but eventually just swapped to a pole. For something as massive as the 5090 FE, you really want that weight going straight down into the chassis floor.

  • The Lian Li GB-002 is decent for mid-weight cards, but the 5090 is just too dense for it.
  • Using a Cooler Master Universal Graphics Card Holder V2 ARGB Support is a more solid option for the long term.
  • A simple Antec Graphics Card Support Bracket Silver Aluminum can be tucked behind the power cables so it doesnt ruin the Fractal North aesthetic. Basically, just get the pole. I have seen enough warped PCIe slots over the years to know that being flashy isnt worth a cracked PCB. Since you spent so much on the card, that extra peace of mind is worth the twenty bucks. That Fractal North case has plenty of space at the bottom anyway, so it wont even look that cluttered if you place it right towards the back corner.
