im tryna prep for my 5090 FE delivery next week for my video work but im losing my mind over these mounts. I saw the Cooler Master V3 but people say it sags and the Lian Li one might not fit the 5090s width. Which vertical mount kit is actually sturdy enough for this heavy brick?

^ This. Also, I just caught this thread and wanted to chime in because the 5090 FE is basically a heavy weapon. I ran some stress tests on brackets with a 4090 recently and the torque on the PCIe slot is actually pretty scary if you dont have a rigid frame. You might want to consider the Phanteks Premium Vertical GPU Bracket PCIe 4.0 because it uses a much thicker gauge steel compared to the Cooler Master V3. I suggest checking these specific points before you pull the trigger:

  • Verify if the bracket includes a bottom-support pillar or an additional brace to handle the 2kg+ weight.
  • Make sure the riser cable is rated for full PCIe 4.0 16x speeds with shielded traces to avoid signal degradation. I actually had a bracket start sagging nearly 5mm after just a week of use on my last video workstation build... definitely wouldnt trust a flimsy mount with a 5090. Safety and reliability are everything with these high-end cards.

You might want to consider the EKWB EK-Loop Vertical GPU Holder EVO Gen4 PCIe 4.0 because it bolts to motherboard standoffs. Be careful with those heavy cards, sag is real.
