I'm planning a high-end build around the new Ryzen 9 9900X3D and want to make sure I don't create a bottleneck. I’ll be gaming at 4K and doing some light video editing. Should I stick with the RTX 4090, or is there a better value option that pairs well with this specific 3D V-Cache chip? What would you guys recommend?

Ok so, definitely grab the ASUS TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 4080 Super 16GB GDDR6X cuz it's safer for your PSU and avoids the 4090 melting cable risks while killing it at 4K!!

Basically, for a beast like the AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, you gotta aim high to avoid a bottleneck at 4K. Here's what I recommend:

* **The King:** NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X is literally the only card that'll let that CPU stretch its wings. I've used it and the 4K performance is insane!
* **The Value Play:** AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB GDDR6 is awesome for gaming and pairs well with Smart Access Memory, tho it's slightly behind in editing.

Honestly, I'd just go 4090 if you have the cash, right?

For your situation, I’m honestly so stoked for you because that 9900X3D is gonna be a total beast!! I've been building rigs for years and these 3D chips are seriously the best things to happen to gaming in a long time. I'm still kinda new to the super high-end 4K side of things, but I'm sooo happy with how my current setup works.

Before you drop a ton of cash tho, I gotta ask a couple questions so I can actually help you out better:

1. What is your actual budget for the card? Like, are you looking to spend the full TWO grand or do you wanna save some for other stuff?
2. Are you super tied to ray tracing or do you just want raw frame rates for your video editing things?

Idk, sticking with the absolute top-tier card usually makes sense for a chip like that, but there might be a better value if you don't mind skipping some fancy features. gl!

Seconding the recommendation above for the 4090, but honestly, as someone who's had a few bad experiences with overspending, I'd say be careful with ur budget.

* NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 24GB GDDR6X: It's the king, but sooo expensive and might be overkill if ur light editing.
* AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX 24GB: Much better value for 4K, tho you lose some ray tracing performance which kinda sucks.

I mean, do you REALLY need the best? Maybe check some benchmarks first because unfortunately these high-end parts get outdated fast lol.

Can confirm this works. Did the same thing on mine and its been solid ever since.
