Hey everyone! I recently picked up the LG Gram 17, and I’m absolutely loving how lightweight it is for such a big screen. However, when I'm settled at my home office for long stretches, I really feel the need for an external monitor to expand my workspace. Since the Gram 17 has that beautiful 16:10 aspect ratio and high-resolution display, I’m struggling to find a monitor that complements it without making the transition between screens feel jarring.
I’m specifically looking for a 27 or 32-inch display that supports USB-C Power Delivery. It would be amazing to have a single-cable setup that handles the video signal while keeping the laptop charged. I do a lot of heavy multitasking with spreadsheets and some light design work, so I’m torn between going for a 4K resolution or sticking with QHD to avoid scaling issues. Also, I'm a bit concerned about how well the integrated Iris Xe graphics handle driving a high-res external panel alongside the laptop's own screen during long work sessions. My budget is around $400-$600, but I’m willing to stretch it for the right fit. Does anyone here have a specific monitor recommendation that pairs perfectly with the LG Gram 17’s ports and performance?

Oh man, I totally feel u on this! I've been using the Gram 17 for ages and honestly, I was sooo worried about the Iris Xe graphics failing me when pushing high res, but it's actually been amazing!
I really suggest being cautious with the power delivery though... u gotta make sure the monitor actually outputs enough juice to keep that big laptop charged under load. Here's what I've found works best for that beautiful 16:10 vibe:
• For the absolute best fit, check out the LG 27UL850-W 27-Inch UHD (3840 x 2160) IPS Display with VESA DisplayHDR 400 and USB Type-C. It's 4K, but the scaling in Windows handles it great and the colors match the Gram perfectly!
• If u want more screen real estate, I love the ASUS ProArt Display PA329CV 32-inch 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) Monitor. It's got 90W power delivery which is seriously fantastic for keeping the Gram topped off without a sweat.
• For a more budget-friendly pick that still feels high-end, the Dell UltraSharp U2722DE 27-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) USB-C Hub Monitor is basically the gold standard for office work and multitasking.
Basically, the Iris Xe handles 4K just fine for spreadsheets and design, so dont be afraid to go big!! gl! 👍

Sooo, I was actually in this exact same boat a few months back with my Gram 17. I'm a total stickler for specs, and honestly, the Iris Xe graphics are surprisingly beefy—it handles my 4K setup just fine as long as you aren't trying to game on it lol. For your budget, I highkey recommend checking out the Dell UltraSharp U2723QE 27-inch 4K USB-C Hub Monitor. It's basically the gold standard for spreadsheets and design work cuz it uses IPS Black tech, so the contrast ratios are insane compared to normal panels. Plus, it delivers 90W power delivery, which is more than enough to keep the Gram topped off via a single cable. If you want that 16:10 feel on a bigger scale, maybe look at the ASUS ProArt Display PA329CV 32-inch 4K UHD Monitor. It's got great color accuracy right out of the box and plenty of screen real estate for multitasking. Tbh, go with 4K... at 27 or 32 inches, QHD looks kinda pixelated once you're used to the Gram's sharp display. gl!

Sooo, I stashed my Gram 17 in a dock for months and honestly, I was terrified about the power delivery frying the motherboard or the Iris Xe graphics just melting lol. I've always been a safety-first kinda guy when it comes to expensive laptops, and pushing 4K while charging over one cable can actually get pretty toasty!! You might find this useful—check out the LG 32UP850N-W 32-inch UHD 4K Monitor... it’s basically built for the Gram.
It delivers 90W PD, which is plenty of headroom so your battery stays healthy and doesnt constantly cycle under load. The reason I suggest 4K over QHD is that Windows scaling has gotten way better, and since the Gram’s screen is so sharp, a QHD 32-inch will look lowkey blurry next to it. Pro tip: use a high-quality Cable Matters USB4 Cable 40Gbps to ensure the signal is stable. Seriously, sticking with 4K is the way to go for spreadsheets, just keep an eye on those temps during long sessions!!
