Whats the best budget 4K monitor for a home office setup that actually looks good? Ive been a dual-monitor 1080p guy for like a decade now but my eyes are starting to feel the strain with all the coding and documentation I do so I figure its time to jump to 4K for that crisp text. I thought it would be easy to just pick one but man the market is a mess right now. I was looking at some of those cheap VA panels but I heard the viewing angles are trash for office work and I dont want my spreadsheets looking weird at the edges.
Im looking to spend maybe $350 max, maybe $400 if it's really worth it. Im based in Chicago so I can hit up a Micro Center if needed. The weird thing is I tried my buddies 27 inch 4K and the scaling in Windows was just... off? Everything was tiny or blurry when I bumped it to 150%. Is 32 inch the sweet spot for 4K to avoid that or am I just overthinking the PPI?
Requirements for me:
Ive been looking at the Dell S series or maybe some LG models but people keep complaining about backlight bleed in the reviews. It feels like such a gamble with these budget panels lately. Anyone have one theyve been using for 8+ hours a day without issues?
Saw this earlier but just now responding. Honestly, the quality control in the sub-$400 range is scary. I went through two units before finding one that didnt have terrible backlight bleed or poor uniformity. If youre heading to Micro Center, maybe check:
Yeah the scaling struggle's totally real. 32 inches feels way more natural for 4K desktop use in my experience.
Any updates on this?
