finally got my hands on a 5070 Ti and now my old 1080p screen looks like a joke haha. ive been looking at the Gigabyte M27Q since it tops every budget list but then I see people complaining about the BGR subpixel layout causing blurry text.

so then I thought maybe the LG 27GP850-B is better? but my logic was that I play a lot of horror and dark RPGs and everyone says IPS glow ruins the immersion... I really want to stay under $350 since the GPU drained my bank account. is there a middle ground I missed that actually has decent contrast without costing an arm and a leg? maybe a high refresh VA that doesnt ghost badly...

Actually, skip the budget VA route since the smearing ruins the vibe in dark games... Ive been really happy with the Dell G2724D 27-inch 1440p 165Hz Fast IPS lately. It works well because it handles contrast much better than most IPS panels.

  • Hits nearly 1500:1 contrast ratio
  • Standard RGB layout for sharp text
  • Usually under 300 bucks Its a solid middle ground that wont break the bank.

Late to the party, but Im finally satisfied after ditching those cheap high-contrast panels.

  • awful black smearing
  • ghosting issues Seriously, dont cut corners tho.

You drop all that cash on a 5070 Ti just to realize every sub-350 screen has some massive dealbreaker. It's like companies just stopped trying for us regular folks. Quick question tho, are you usually gaming in a totally dark room or do you have some lamps going?
