My old BenQ finally bit the dust this morning and I am literally staring at a black screen while trying to type this on my phone. I have a local tournament in like ten days and I really wanted to finally make the jump to 4K because my new PC build can actually handle it now with the 4090 I saved up for. I've been looking at the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM because everyone says the OLED response times are insane for competitive play but then I see people complaining about text clarity and potential burn in if I use it for work too. Then there is the MSI MPG 321URX which seems cheaper but is it actually as fast? I am so lost honestly. I need something that is at least 240Hz because I cant go back to 144Hz but I dont want to drop 1200 bucks on something that is gonna have ghosting issues or weird lag. Is there like a consensus on the absolute fastest 4K panel right now that wont die on me in a year? I'm planning to head to Microcenter on Friday so I need to decide fast...

Just found this thread while looking for some 4090 benchmarks. Honestly, Ive been through the ringer with high-end displays over the years and learned that fastest doesnt always translate to the best daily driver. I tried the OLED route earlier this year and the text fringing actually gave me headaches during work hours, so I switched back to a more traditional panel tech for reliability. If you are genuinely worried about burn-in but refuse to compromise on that 240Hz speed, here is what I suggest:

Man, I was in your exact shoes about two months ago when I finally put my 4090 to work. I ended up grabbing the ASUS ROG Swift PG32UCDM 32-inch 4K OLED 240Hz and honestly I've been so satisfied with how it handles Valorant and Apex. You're right to be worried about the technical side tho. These QD-OLED panels from Samsung—which both the ASUS and MSI use—are basically identical in terms of raw speed. I spent hours digging through sub-millisecond response time charts before buying and they both sit around 0.03ms GtG. It is just mind-blowing compared to old IPS panels. I went with the ASUS because of the custom heatsink and the firmware options. Since I do a bit of work during the day and heavy gaming at night, I was paranoid about heat and burn-in too. So far, no complaints at all. The text clarity on these new third-gen panels is way better than the older ones, so dont let the horror stories from two years ago scare you off. If you wanna save a bit of cash, the MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED 32-inch 4K 240Hz is a total beast and uses the exact same glass. I've seen buddies use it and it works well without any weird lag or bugs. Just make sure you use a high quality cable like a Cable Matters DisplayPort 1.4 Cable to handle the DSC. The 240Hz at 4K is peak gaming tbh, you wont regret it...
