I'm putting together a budget-friendly build with a Ryzen 5 7600 and want to save some cash by going with an A620 board. I'm mainly looking for decent VRMs and at least two M.2 slots. Since it's for gaming, I'm a bit worried about thermal throttling on the cheaper models. Which A620 board offers the best bang for your buck right now?
Yo! For a budget 7600 build, the ASRock A620M Pro RS WiFi is hands down the best pick right now. Tbh, it’s actually better than some cheap B650 boards lol. You get three M.2 slots—not just two—which is sooo nice for extra storage and stuff. The VRMs are super solid too, so u don’t have to worry about any thermal throttling issues at all!!
Anyway... if u can’t find that one, the Gigabyte A620M GAMING X is another reallyyy good choice. It’s got two M.2 slots and decent heatsinks to keep things cool. But yeah, the ASRock one is basically the king of value. It’s got everything u need for gaming without breaking the bank. Good luck with the build, it's gonna be great!!
Great info, saved!
I actually went through this same dilemma a few months back... ngl I was pretty worried about my 7600 getting throttled on a budget board lol. I ended up picking up the Gigabyte A620M GAMING X because it looked beefy enough for my needs. Honestly? It's been totally fine and stays cool even during long gaming sessions. Pretty glad I didn't overspend on a B650 tbh!!
Make sure to be careful with which brand you pick because some of them really cut corners on the VRM cooling compared to others even at the same price. I've seen some budget boards that look like they'd melt if you even looked at them wrong. Honestly it reminds me of this one old build I did where I was so obsessed with getting the perfect match for my peripherals. I ended up painting my desk this weird metallic silver color just to match a keyboard I bought on clearance. It looked absolutely terrible and the paint never really dried right so my arms would stick to the desk whenever I played for more than an hour... anyway lol, sorry kinda went off topic there.
