I'm planning an AM5 build with a Ryzen 9 chip and I'm stuck choosing a motherboard. I want the PCIe 5.0 support of the X670E chipset, but prices are all over the place. I need solid VRMs for overclocking and at least three M.2 slots. Which model currently offers the best features for the price without hitting the $500 mark?

Tbh the ASRock X670E Steel Legend is easily the best value pick right now!! It’s sooo much cheaper than those $500 boards and has reallyyy solid VRMs for overclocking plus it has four M.2 slots (which is plenty) so you honestly can't go wrong if you want PCIe 5.0 without breaking the bank lol it’s just a great all-rounder for any Ryzen 9 build!!

Tbh that board is fine but I actually think B650E is the way to go?? You still get PCIe 5.0 and realy solid VRMs for way less... its kinda crazy lol

Honestly, picking an X670E board is kinda a headache because, like, the prices are all over the place right now. Tbh, you definitely dont need to spend $500 to get GREAT performance for a Ryzen 9. I mean... well actually, you can usually find the sweet spot around the $300 mark. Look for boards that offer a 14+2+1 power phase setup because that’s basically plenty for overclocking without melting anything lol. Most mid-range X670E models are gonna give u those three M.2 slots easily, and u still get that PCIe 5.0 future-proofing ur looking for. Just keep an eye on the rear I/O because some brands cut corners there to save a few bucks, which is sooo frustrating... but yeah, mid-tier is the way to go!!
