Best budget-friendly RAM options for Intel Core i3-10100?

Hey everyone! I'm currently putting together a budget-friendly build using an Intel Core i3-10100, and I’m a bit stuck on picking the right memory. Since I’m using a B460 motherboard, I know I’m capped at 2666MHz speeds, so I really don't want to overspend on high-frequency kits that I can't even fully utilize. I’m looking for a reliable 16GB (2x8GB) kit that won't break the bank but still offers decent timings. I've been looking at options from TeamGroup and Crucial, but I'm open to anything that's stable. Does anyone have a specific budget-friendly RAM recommendation that pairs well with this CPU for daily multitasking and light gaming?

In my experience, building with the i3-10100 is all about that sweet spot of value. I actually did a similar budget build for my nephew last year using a B460 board, and honestly, don't sweat the 2666MHz cap too much. I initially bought a fancy high-speed kit, but it was just a waste of cash since the board just throttled it down anyway.

For your situation, I would suggest TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 3200MHz CL16. Even though it's rated for 3200, it's often cheaper than dedicated 2666 kits and will run perfectly stable at your capped speed with really tight timings. Another rock-solid option is the Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz CL19 CT2K8G4DFRA266. It's not the flashiest looking, but it's basically bulletproof for daily multitasking. Just make sure to enable XMP in the BIOS or it might default even lower... but yeah, either of those will be great for light gaming. gl!

Honestly, since you're locked at 2666MHz, I'd say just grab Crucial RAM 16GB Kit (2x8GB) DDR4 2666MHz CL19 Desktop Memory CT2K8G4DFRA266 or maybe TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z DDR4 16GB Kit (2x8GB) 3000MHz CL16 if it's cheaper. The T-Force will just downclock itself anyway, so go with whichever costs less tbh. Both are super stable for daily stuff.

Seconding the recommendation above! Honestly, basically any kit from a brand like G.Skill or Silicon Power is gonna work fine too. Since youre capped at 2666MHz, I wouldnt stress it too much... I built a similar rig and just bought the cheapest 3200MHz sticks I could find cuz they downclock anyway. Just make sure its a 2x8GB kit for dual channel or performance will kinda tank lol. gl with the build!
