Best low profile RAM for Ryzen 7 7700X small builds?

I'm planning a SFF build with a Ryzen 7 7700X and a beefy air cooler, but clearance is a huge concern. I need DDR5 sticks that won't interfere with the fan. I’ve looked at the G.Skill Flare X5, but are there other reliable options with low latency? What’s the best low-profile kit that actually hits 6000MHz stable?

Tbh I totally agree with the previous points, but one thing people forget is just checking the raw height specs in mm. Like, a lot of brands have basic kits without all the fancy LEDs that are basically the same height as the stuff already mentioned... just check ur cooler manual!! SFF builds are such a pain with that stuff lol. Plus, sometimes u can even swap the fan to the other side??

Solid advice 👍

Ok so, for a SFF build with that 7700X, RAM clearance is definitely a nightmare when ur trying to squeeze in a beefy air cooler. Since you already checked out the G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30, honestly, that is like the gold standard for low profile right now. It is super short at 33mm and the EXPO profiles are usually rock solid on AM5.

But if you want another option, the TeamGroup T-Create Expert Overclocking 10L DDR5 6000MHz CL30 is actually insane!! It has a really clean, flat heatspreader that is also around 32mm, so it will fit under basically anything. Another one people forget is the Corsair Vengeance DDR5 6000MHz C30. Just make sure it is the *non-RGB* version because that light bar adds a bunch of height you dont want... it’s kinda annoying lol.

Getting 6000MHz stable is mostly about getting that CL30 timing... it is the absolute sweet spot for Zen 4 performance. All these kits usually use SK Hynix chips anyway, so you are gonna be totally fine with stability as long as your BIOS is updated. Low profile is *crucial* for those tiny cases tbh!! Just pick whichever one is cheapest at the time

Ok so totally agree... heights vary so much! You could also look at the Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 6000MHz CL30 sticks. They're super low and hit those speeds easily on AM5 builds lol.

Yeah, totally agree with the advice to look at the raw height specs in mm. "Low profile" is basically a marketing term that varies between brands, so checking the manual for your air cooler is CRITICAL. If you're running a 7700X, hitting that 6000MHz sweet spot is all about the memory controller and getting a kit with Hynix ICs (M-die or A-die) for the best stability on AM5. Here are two other technical sleepers that haven't been mentioned yet: 1. Mushkin Redline ST (Stealth) 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30
- Pros: Absolute clearance king at 31.5mm. It uses high-quality Hynix chips so it handles tight timings like a champ.
- Cons: Availability can be spotty depending on your region. 2. Crucial DDR5 Pro 32GB Kit (2x16GB) 6000MHz
- Pros: Extremely reliable at 32mm height. It supports both Intel XMP 3.0 and AMD EXPO on the same SKU, which is super convenient.
- Cons: Usually comes in CL36, so the latency is slightly higher than the CL30 kits, but it's rock solid for stability. Like, honestly, as long as you stay under 33mm, most beefy dual-tower coolers will clear just fine. Just make sure your BIOS is updated to the latest AGESA version to help with those boot times!

Building on the earlier suggestion about checking those raw height specs, I totally agree that it is a total game changer! Honestly, if youre building in a tight SFF case where the cooler covers everything anyway, dont waste your cash on flashy heatsinks or fancy branding. I love just finding the most basic, non-RGB kits with decent timings because you can save a solid chunk of change that way! Most of the time, the plainest looking sticks are actually the shortest ones out there anyway. It is an amazing way to keep the budget down while still hitting those 6000MHz targets without any clearance drama!
