Man I am freaking out a bit because my RTX 5070 Ti is actually coming in earlier than expected and I still havent settled on the damn memory. Everything else is sitting in boxes on my floor but the RAM and I'm losing my mind trying to pick. I'm building a 1440p high refresh rate machine mainly for Cyberpunk and the new Stalker game so I need something that wont bottleneck the 50 series card and keep my 1% lows smooth. I've been looking at a few kits but the timings are confusing the hell out of me and I dont want to waste money on something that wont even make a difference in gaming performance.

My constraints for the build:

  • Budget: Trying to stay under 180 bucks if possible.
  • Clearance: I'm using a big air cooler (DeepCool AK620) so I cant have crazy tall heatspreaders or the fan wont fit.
  • Timing: Need to order today to get it by the weekend build date.
  • Use case: Purely gaming and maybe some light streaming on the side.

I'm basically torn between three kits right now:

  • G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo RGB 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30. Everyone says CL30 is the sweet spot for latency but they look kinda tall and I'm really scared they wont fit under my cooler fins.
  • Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36. Its cheaper and definitely lower profile which is great for the air cooler but is the CL36 gonna hold back the 5070 Ti? I heard the new 50 series is super hungry for bandwidth.
  • TeamGroup T-Force Delta 32GB 6400MHz. Faster clock speed but I've heard mixed things about stability on AM5 boards (im running a 7800X3D) and I dont want to spend hours in the BIOS just to get it to post.

I'm leaning towards the G.Skill just because everyone raves about it on Reddit but the clearance issue is stressing me out and I need to hit the checkout button in like the next hour to get shipping. Is the 6400 speed actually worth the headache or should I just stick to the 6000 CL30 stuff? Or is there something else I'm missing that works better with the new Nvidia architecture? Just tell me what to buy so I can stop refreshing tabs...

> I'm really scared they wont fit under my cooler fins. I had the same worry with my big air cooler. Honestly, just grab the Corsair Vengeance 32GB DDR5 6000MHz CL30. It is super low profile so it clears the AK620 fans no problem. I have been very satisfied with the stability on my 7800X3D and the CL30 timing is definitely better than the CL36 for your 1% lows. Works well and wont break the bank.

Just saw this thread and man, you're right to worry about those heights. Unfortunately, I had a nightmare trying to fit fancy RGB kits under an AK620 before. I ended up having to clip my front fan way higher than it should be, which honestly looked like trash and didnt cool as well. Plus, that 6400 speed sounds nice on paper but for a 7800X3D, it's usually a mess. Most of those chips just wont hit that 1:1 ratio stably without a ton of manual voltage tweaking. If you havent bought yet, check these out:

  • G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96
  • Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB DDR5-6000 CL36 The Flare X5 is my go-to for AM5 builds because it's super low profile at 33mm. It's basically the Trident internals without the tall plastic bits that hit your cooler. Tbh, spending hours in BIOS for 6400 just isn't worth the headache.
