With the RTX 5070 rumors picking up, I’m starting to piece together a balanced build to avoid any bottlenecks. I’m planning on moving to the AM5 platform, but I’m torn on the memory. I want to find that 'sweet spot' for value—something that offers great performance for gaming without paying the premium for high-end overclocking kits. I’ve been looking at 32GB kits around 6000MHz CL30, but I’m curious if the 50-series will benefit from even faster speeds or if that's just diminishing returns. Should I stick with a standard G.Skill or Corsair kit, or is there a specific brand/latency I should prioritize for this GPU? What RAM kit would you recommend for the best price-to-performance ratio?

I went through this last year when I built my 7800X3D rig. Tbh I spent days looking at 6400MHz kits but ended up with TEAMGROUP T-Force Delta RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 because basically anything faster just wasn't stable. On AM5, the infinity fabric clock usually hits a wall at 3000MHz, so 6000MHz RAM is literally the perfect 1:1 ratio. Going higher is just diminishing returns for more money.

Ok so, just found this thread and honestly, you guys are spot on about 6000MHz being the limit for AM5. I've been building rigs for 15+ years and trying to push past that usually just leads to random BSODs when you least expect it. Safety and stability should always come first if you actually want to play games instead of troubleshooting all day lol.

You might find this useful—check out the 'Buildzoid' videos on YouTube or the PCPartPicker compatibility filters to find kits with Hynix M-die or A-die, as they're the most reliable for AMD. Since you're looking for budget-friendly value that wont break the bank, here are a few solid alternatives to what's already been mentioned:

1. Silicon Power Zenith DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 - Usually the cheapest kit around ($95-$105) and works great.
2. Lexar Thor OC DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL32 - Super low profile so it fits under any cooler safely.
3. Patriot Viper Venom DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 - If you wanna save even more cash, CL36 is basically indistinguishable in real gaming.

Stick to 6000MHz and you'll be golden for that 5070!! gl

Honestly, sticking with G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 is your best bet for the RTX 5070. I tried pushing for 6400MHz on AM5 and it was a total headache with stability issues, so 6000MHz CL30 really is the sweet spot.

Seconding the recommendation above. Honestly, 6000MHz is basically the ceiling for stability on AM5 right now, so dont waste ur cash on faster kits cuz you wont even notice the difference lol.

* Focus on **low latency** (CL30) over raw speed.
* Check out the Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 CL36-38-38 if you wanna save a few extra bucks.

Stick to 6000 CL30 and ur golden for the 5070!! 👍
