Top rated RAM for an RTX 4070 Super system?

I’m finally putting together my new build around an RTX 4070 Super, but I’m a bit stuck on picking the right RAM to avoid any performance bottlenecks. I’m planning on using a mid-to-high-end CPU, likely a Ryzen 7700X or an i7-13700K, and I want to make sure the memory speeds actually complement the GPU’s power. Should I be looking strictly at DDR5-6000 CL30 for the best stability, or is it worth pushing for higher frequencies? I'm mainly focused on 1440p gaming and some light video editing. Does anyone have specific brand recommendations or kits that have been rock-solid for this specific GPU tier? What’s the sweet spot for speed and latency right now?

In my experience, you’ve basically hit the nail on the head. For a Ryzen 7700X especially, I would HIGHLY recommend sticking to the 6000MT/s mark. Going higher like 6400 or 7200 might sound cool, but it can be super unstable because of how the Infinity Fabric works. Seriously, stay cautious here! I’ve seen so many people try to push for "bleeding edge" speeds only to end up with wierd Blue Screens of Death during a gaming session. Not fun at all...

Here is what I recommend based on my own testing:

1. G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 vs Corsair Vengeance RGB 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR5-6000 CL30 CMH32GX5M2B6000C30

- **G.Skill Flare X5**: This is my top pick for AMD builds. It is rock-solid because it uses AMD EXPO profiles which are optimized for stability. It is low-profile too, so it fits under basically any cooler. Amazing kit and realy reliable!
- **Corsair Vengeance**: If you end up going with the i7-13700K, this is fantastic. It supports XMP 3.0 and the build quality is literally top-tier.

But yeah, keep it at CL30! Lower latency is way more important for 1440p gaming than raw MHz that your CPU might not even handle properly. Basically, stick to 6000 CL30 cuz it is the industry standard for a reason right now. Its just safer and the performance gain from anything higher is like... marginal at best? Definitately go for stability so you can actually enjoy that 4070 Super without worry! gl!

For your situation, 6000MT/s CL30 is basically the sweet spot for value. Tbh, anything faster is just diminishing returns and wastes cash better spent on games. I've been using Teamgroup T-Force Vulcan DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 in my recent builds cuz it's usually around $90-$100 and SUPER stable. Plus, the low profile fits under most air coolers. Don't overspend on RGB stuff unless you really want it—just grab something like the Silicon Power Zenith DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 if you're looking for the absolute cheapest kit that won't bottleneck that 4070 Super. gl!

Just sharing my experience: Unfortunately, i basically learned the hard way that pushing for 7200MHz+ on a 13700K setup isnt always worth the headache. I spent a whole weekend trying to stabilize higher frequencies but just kept hitting blue screens and memory errors during renders. It was SO frustrating... honestly, the performance gain over DDR5-6000 CL30 was like, literally 1-2% in 1440p gaming. I ended up downclocking to the 6000 sweet spot for actual stability, so dont waste too much cash on the ultra-high speeds unless you love BIOS troubleshooting lol.
