I'm finally putting together a build around the Ryzen 5 3600, but I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by all the RAM options available now. I know this CPU is a bit older, but I want to make sure I'm hitting that sweet spot for performance without overspending. I've heard that 3200MHz or 3600MHz is the way to go for the Infinity Fabric, but I'm curious if CL16 vs CL18 makes a noticeable difference in 2024. I’m mainly looking for a 16GB kit that’s stable and reliable for gaming. Does anyone have specific brand recommendations or kits that have played well with this chip recently? What’s the best price-to-performance RAM for the 3600 right now?

Totally agree, 32GB is kinda mandatory nowadays!! Maybe look at Kingston FURY Beast 32GB 3600MHz CL18? It’s super reliable and usually a bit cheaper than the others, right??

Tbh I'd realy skip 16GB tho. 32GB is actualy way better for 2024 games tho!! Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB 3600MHz CL18 is definately the sweet spot tho.

Totally agree with the previous post—16GB is *kinda* cutting it close these days, so definitely go for 32GB if you can swing it!! The performance boost from 3600MHz is real because of how the Infinity Fabric works on the 3600. While the Corsair kit mentioned is a classic, I'd actually look at the G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 if you want that extra bit of snappiness from the lower latency. CL16 vs CL18 isn't a *huge* deal in every game, but it helps with those 1% lows, which is what you're really looking for, right? Another solid budget pick that's super reliable is the TeamGroup T-Force Vulcan Z 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3600 CL18. It’s usually a bit cheaper and works like a charm with Ryzen chips. Either way, 3600MHz is definitely the sweet spot you should be aiming for!
