managed to snag a 5070 Ti for my first build but honestly I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to the ram. I was looking at stuff on amazon and there are all these numbers like 6000mhz and cl30 and it makes my head spin. I have about $140 left for this and I am building it in two weeks but I dont want to buy the wrong thing and break it. I heard ddr5 is better but does it even matter for gaming?? i just want it to work and not be a waste of money. what should I even be looking for...

Love Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB 6000MHz CL30 for amazing performance but Crucial Pro RAM 32GB DDR5 5600MHz is legendary for stability! Both are super safe options and wont break anything... honestly fantastic value!

To add to the point above: I actually disagree slightly about needing 6000mhz for that setup. When I did my first build, I was terrified of blue screens, so I went with Kingston FURY Beast DDR5 32GB 5600MT/s CL36 instead. I've been so satisfied with how rock-solid it is. Quick tip: just make sure you hear that loud click when installing... it takes way more force than you'd expect!

Re: "Love Corsair Vengeance DDR5 32GB 6000MHz CL30 for..." - those specs are basically the performance sweet spot. I am satisfied with that standard since it provides great bandwidth without the stability issues found at higher frequencies. To help narrow this down:

  • Which CPU are you using?
  • Do you have a specific motherboard yet? Compatibility varies between platforms, so those details help a lot tho.

You definitely want DDR5 for that card. I suggest 6000MHz CL30 because it offers the best latency for the price right now. Be careful with higher speeds tho, as they can cause stability issues on many memory controllers. I personally use G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 32GB DDR5-6000 CL30-38-38-96 and it has been rock solid. Just make sure your motherboard supports EXPO before buying.
