So Im finally planning to grab an RTX 5080 as soon as they hit the shelves because my current 3070 is basically choking on 4K at this point and it's honestly driving me insane. Ive been doing some digging and everyone swears by the 7800X3D as the gold standard but then I see people arguing that the new 9000 series chips are the only way to go to avoid a bottleneck with the 50-series cards. Some tech sites say the 14900K is better for raw clock speeds at high res but I really dont want an oven in my room and the power draw is just silly. Its so frustrating because every time I think I have a plan a new benchmark comes out that contradicts the last one and I just want to get this right the first time without wasting money.
Here is what I am looking at:
Is it actually worth waiting for the 9800X3D to stabilize or should I just grab a 7800X3D and call it a day? Or am I totally overlooking a better option that wont hold the 5080 back? I just dont want to spend two grand on a GPU just to have it sit there waiting for the processor to catch up or something...
Just saw this. Unfortunately, stock is a nightmare right now. I had issues with Intel heat before, so maybe check this out instead:
Honestly, you should absolutely hold out for the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D 8-Core 16-Thread 96MB L3 Cache Processor! The performance gains in 1% lows are amazing for smooth 4K gaming.
In my experience, the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D 8-Core 16-Thread Desktop Processor is the move.
